GPI is a student-led organization that directly engages the MIT community in the fight against global poverty.

We believe that students around the country have the resources, the passion, and the ingenuity to help tackle the problems of poverty. GPI aims to support students in using that opportunity to make a difference.

We currently are organized into two teams:

Action is implementing a computer science education project in Lavezares, Philippines. In the past, we've worked on recycling programs in San Ignacio de Velasco, Bolivia and a maternal health project (du'Anyam) in Indonesia.

Education plans events to engage the MIT community in international development, including our annual Poverty Action Week and the International Development (ID) Hackathon.
