Expanding Minds Broadening Horizons is a non-profit organization that was started by two individuals in 2014. This organization was developed in an attempt to empower the orphan community of Kinshasa, Democratic Republic of Congo through organized institutions such as orphanages. This organization focuses on providing orphanages with books and tutoring sessions, in the French language, which students need since they do not necessarily experience regular and routine schooling, since the public schooling sector is flawed in nature.

The organization relies on fundraising and donations made by private individuals for the tutor that comes several times a week to ensure that these students pass their state exams and provide them with a more sustainable future. Furthermore, the organization relies on donations of books that are collected on a monthly basis from various French schools and institutes across Europe. This organization strives to give children between the ages of 8-15 the tools to become independent when they leave the orphanage at the age of 18 by ensuring literacy and educating them with general life skills. There are currently 200 children who are being served by this program, and the organization is expanding with more international support.
