What you’ll do 
For more than four decades, Corporate Accountability’s greatest strength has been its people—the hundreds of thousands of supporters, members, and allies around the globe who power the organization, and the staff who keep it running every day. 
 
Your job will be to support our talented, creative staff to thrive in their roles and be the best change-makers they can be. That starts with their first day of orientation and ends with their last day on our staff, with many milestones along the way. And it means many different things: Making sure staff have the benefits they need to live healthy lives, and prompting the organization’s annual evaluation process; keeping the workplace running smoothly and in compliance so each individual can focus on their own important role; and ensuring we celebrate staff milestones like birthdays, work anniversaries, and more. 
 
In so doing, you’ll help ensure that our working environment is a microcosm of the inclusive, equitable world we envision. As you coordinate our operations team, from managing our benefits platform to supporting new staff joining the organization to being a member of the cross-unit tech and security teams, you’ll take on new projects and leadership, too—making ever greater impact toward building that world. 
 
Who you are 
  • The rampant abuses of corporations and the outrageous amount of power they have make you mad as hell—and you want to do something about it. 
  • You have solid experience managing projects from start to finish, meeting tough deadlines, and managing both up and laterally to get what you need. Guided by your strong attention to detail, you create and manage successful work plans that track toward weekly, monthly, and yearly goals. 
  • You understand that changing the imbalance of power in the world, its inherent racial injustice, and the oppression people of color experience is a critical part of your work for justice. You have a commitment to advancing racial equity and transforming systems of oppression, and are ready to do this in your day to day work.
  • You’re a problem-solver. You can work under pressure, and you come up with creative solutions when unexpected situations arise. When something doesn’t go as planned, you’re ready to adapt and adjust to get back on track. 
  • You passionately believe that relationship-based organizing is how we change the world—and you’ve got the relationship-building and interpersonal communication skills to prove it. You know how to build trust within a team and get them to take action with you. 
  • You have a working knowledge of labor law, or enthusiasm to learn. 
  • You have at least three years of workplace experience with a focus in operations and/or human resources , ideally in a nonprofit or campaign setting.  
  • Bonus: You have experience with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) such as BambooHR, Namely, or ADP Workforce Now, and/or knowledge of international HR practices. 
 
What you’ll be responsible for in the day-to-day 
  • Lead operations and office administration, including playing a leadership role on our cross-unit reception, technology, and security teams. 
  • Ensure Corporate Accountability’s policies and operations are in compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations. 
  • Administer the staff benefits package and maintain personnel files. 
  • Maintain systems for onboarding and offboarding staff and interns. 
  • Coordinate celebrations of staff’s personal and professional milestones, ensuring our gatherings are fun and inclusive. 
  • Prompt and coordinate our staff evaluation process. 
  • Enthusiastically participate in organization-wide planning, fundraising, recruitment, racial equity advancement, and campaign activities. 
 
Salary and benefits: 
  • Salary range: $47,500 to $58,300, commensurate with experience.  
  • Our comprehensive benefit package includes health insurance (with 90% of the premium for all tiers covered by the organization) and dental coverage (with 100% of the individual premium covered by the organization and the option to add dependents at an additional cost); FSA for transit, health care, and dependent care; and 401(k) with employer match.
