Resource Development Officer - MIT D-Lab

RESOURCE DEVELOPMENT OFFICER*, /D-Lab/, to identify, monitor, and research funding opportunities and prospects for MIT D-Lab.  Will work with leadership and program staff to develop funding proposals in line with MIT D-Lab’s strategic priorities, lead the writing and submission of grant proposals, work with staff to assure that all reporting requirements are completed, and represent and pitch MIT D-Lab to prospective institutional donors.

D-Lab is an interdisciplinary program that is committed to using its technological and educational resources to improve the lives of the three billion people who live on less than $3 a day. Through academic offerings, research projects, and fieldwork, D-Lab pursues low-cost and locally sustainable solutions in agriculture, water and sanitation, health, energy, and education. 

Job Requirements
/REQUIRED/:  bachelor’s degree in a related field, e.g.., international relations, public policy, international business, etc.; at least five years’ experience in business development, proposal development, partnership management, and/or program management; demonstrated success securing foundation, corporate, and government grants; ability to set
priorities, organize workload, manage competing demands, meet deadlines, and set and follow through on goals; ability to build a collective, collaborative vision for a project or program across diverse or new teams; an established network in the international development community or a proven record of being able to create one; excellent oral, written, and visual communications skills; ability to engage and tailor communication to a wide range of audiences; and experience using customer relationship management software to track donors, establish goals, and generate reports.  Seek someone who understands and has an affinity for D-Lab’s mission and values and a commitment to applying
those values in all aspects of the position.  Experience in a nonprofit or education environment preferred.  Advanced degree a plus.  *Job #17027-P
