Programs Intern - Boston Network for International Development

BNID is Boston’s hub for individuals and organizations interested in international development and global justice.

The programs intern will play a key role in developing and supporting virtual programs for the fall, including university “lunch and learns”, critical conversations series, and holiday networking event, as well as other program and operations duties.

Detailed list of tasks and responsibilities associated with the position:

  • Program development and coordination: Support Board, Executive Director and Programs Associate in developing and managing fall virtual events, which include “lunch and learn” events with area graduate programs, critical conversations around issues connected to global health, international development, global justice, racial justice, and other areas of interest.

  • Post jobs and events: When people submit jobs and events to our website, approve or deny

  • Newsletter: Support newsletter development by consolidating jobs and events

  • Social Media and Communications: Support external communications such as social media and responding to [email protected] account.

  • Other administrative and communications tasks as they emerge.

Preferred skills, qualifications and other requirements:   

  • Experience managing programs and projects

  • Strong communicator

  • Strategic thinker, able to see and propose new ideas, offer creative solutions

  • Self-directed and able to work independently and with a team

  • Organized and detail oriented

  • Audience-focused, experience with community outreach and development

  • Self-aware and reflective about the dynamics of international development and global justice

  • Availability/Compensation: 8-10 hours per week from Sept 21st to December 18th (dates flexible) /$250 stipend upon internship completion
