World Education is seeking a Program Associate (PA) to join the Boston-based team, which supports programs throughout Southeast Asia and Nepal. Programs are implemented in partnership with local institutions, and are designed to build the skills and strengthen the capacity of local partners. Program activities focus on developing strong civil society organizations and sustainable service delivery at the community level in areas that include: education, youth development, community participation, literacy, microenterprise/microfinance and inclusive development. The PA will provide support to project teams to ensure the timeliness and accuracy of project documentation.

Annual salary is $46,600 - $49,000, depending on years of experience, plus excellent benefits including health insurance, dental, vision, and a retirement benefit with employer contribution. Currently, World Education employees have returned to the office with a hybrid schedule. Interested candidates must be willing to come to the Boston office two to three days a week.


  • Has a thorough understanding of World Education mission, organizational structure, financial and program management policies, and strategic areas of intervention;
  • Supports new business development, including tracking funding opportunities, assisting in production of proposals, and performing background research for contract and grant proposals;
  • Provides administrative support to the division;
  • Reviews program office financial documentation for compliance and audit readiness;
  • Regularly communicates with finance and admin teams to review outstanding issues and questions;
  • Assists staff in the project budgeting and planning process;
  • Provides data input and general office support; and
  • Contributes to other division and World Education initiatives and performs other duties as assigned.


  • Bachelor degree completed or in progress, or equivalent experience;
  • Interest in the finance and administrative aspects of international development;
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint and willingness to learn new software;
  • Ability to work as part of a team;
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently without close supervision; and
  • Demonstrated understanding and commitment to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Salary commensurate with experience.
