Non-Profit Internship : GRACE Cares


LOCATION: Brattleboro, VT or Remote

REPORT TO: Program Coordinator

HOURS: 10-40 hours/week, 3-12 months

COMPENSATION: Honorarium based on skill level and time commitment

START DATE: May 1, 2020

GRACE Cares, founded in 2002, partners with local heroes and communities on small-scale community development projects with big impacts. Our mission is to empower communities around the world to foster, preserve, and share their indigenous cultures and traditions. This is accomplished by building healthy, educated, productive communities. Position Overview

A minimum three-month position reporting to the Program Coordinator. We are offering four internship opportunities: 

  1. Internship - General: Intern will be involved in multiple aspects of the organization such as grant searching and writing, social media promotion, and fundraising efforts.

  2. Internship - B4 Peace: Intern will focus on supporting our B4 Peace Project, through grant searching and writing, social media promotion of upcoming projects, and fundraising efforts. For more information on B4 Peace, please visit:

  3. Internship - Grants: Intern will work on grant searching and writing for various GRACE Cares partner projects.

  4. Internship - Social Media: Intern will contribute to social media maintenance and strategies to enhance the presence of the organization and its projects on various platforms.


Responsibilities for General Intern

  • Research funding sources and assist with writing grant proposals

  • Maintain Grant databases

  • Promote GRACE Cares mission and vision on social media platforms

  • Contribute to fundraising efforts


Responsibilities for B4 Peace Intern

  • Research funding sources and assist with writing grant proposals

  • Contribute to fundraising efforts

  • Maintain and enhance social media presence of the B4 Peace projects

  • Assist with documentation of projects by taking meeting minutes


Responsibilities for Grants Intern

  • Research grant funding sources

  • Assist with writing grant proposals

  • Maintain Grant project databases


Responsibilities for Social Media Intern

  • Promote GRACE Cares mission and vision on social media

  • Share stories about GRACE Cares partner projects and local heros

  • Assist with writing copy and designing effective social media communications

  • Contribute to the development of social media strategies in collaboration with the Program Coordinator



  • Current student (undergraduate or graduate); BA in Art/Communications/Marketing/Political Science/Public Health/Journalism or related field preferred

  • Success in roles requiring execution of multiple tasks while responding to multiple priorities

  • Proven ability to work with efficiency, flexibility, and good humor

  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are essential

  • Passionate about GRACE Cares’ mission and impact  

  • Self-starter, self-disciplined, spark, imagination, creativity
