About BHI:  Founded in 2014, Build Health International is a nonprofit organization that designs and builds dignified and affordable healthcare for all. BHI is a dynamic organization that is growing rapidly to address unmet needs for health facility improvements in response to COVID-19 and other pressing public health challenges. BHI's medical oxygen program builds on its unique expertise in the construction and repair of hospitals, clinics, and other health infrastructure in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs).  COVID-19 has promoted a phase of rapid and substantial growth for BHI’s medical oxygen program. 

About the Role:  BHI is looking for a bright and talented Multimedia Content Development intern for the summer of 2023. The Multimedia Content Development intern will work closely with the Communications and Marketing Manager to lead filming and producing technical video content resources as they relate to medical oxygen, including educational/instructional videos and training materials. This role will involve engaging with BHI’s international medical oxygen team as well as with BHI architects, engineers, project managers,and external partners, with a primary focus on promoting BHI as a technical leader and resource in the international medical oxygen space.  

 

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with BHI’s Communications and Marketing Manager and team of international medical oxygen technicians to produce multimedia content that can be used to educate global partners and advocate for healthcare infrastructure. 

  • Support the development of training and educational videos that capture BHI’s technical expertise, knowledge of medical oxygen systems, and healthcare infrastructure in low-resource settings.

  • Support to identify, craft, and showcase compelling stories that convey BHI’s mission around oxygen delivery. 

  • Support management and production of the execution of live technical seminars hosted by BHI. 

  • Willingness to work on multiple projects across multiple sites  at the discretion of BHI.

  • Willingness to collaborate with a multi-cultural site team of international engineers and contractors.

 

Qualifications:

  • Current undergraduate or graduate student studying digital multimedia, video production, photography, or other creative medium. 

  • Demonstrated technical skills for videography and photography for the purpose of content production.

  • Strong proficiency with photo and video editing software, including the Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or Canva.

  • 1-2 years of communications, visual media, marketing, branding experience preferred, though not required. 

  • Strong attention to detail and track record of building creative concepts.

  • Ability to  work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with differing deadlines

  • High level of integrity and work ethic. 

  • Bonus: interest in current and emerging issues in global health or international development.

 

Location:  The Media Development Intern may operate on a hybrid schedule with some days required in the BHI office located in Beverly. 

 

Compensation:  $18.00 per hour. 

 

Duration:  This is a part-time internship that will run from June to August 2023 with the possibility of extension based on the applicant’s ability.
