Our Generation Speaks (OGS) is a fellowship program and incubator where emerging leaders create high-impact ventures. The fellowship establishes a set of innovative enterprises that generate significant social and economic value, while creating a cohort of young Israeli and Palestinian community leaders who cooperate across ethnic and political lines to build shared prosperity within the region. Over the course of a 3-month summer residency at Brandeis University (June 6 - September 1, 2021), OGS Fellows partake in a tailor-made academic program at Brandeis University’s Heller School, develop their startups through our partnership with MassChallenge, MIT’s DesignX and Game Lab, and engage in coaching and mentoring with our accomplished network of Palestinian, Israeli, and American leaders. The Fellowship Program Coordinator will operate many different aspects of the OGS fellowship, as the Israeli and Palestinian participants will be going through rigorous academic seminar and mentorship programs. The Fellowship Program Coordinator will be in charge of behind-the-scenes work that will ensure our world-class programming: communication, operations, scheduling and event planning. This position will also allow you to meet and communicate not only with future Israeli and Palestinian leaders but also with top-tier Boston businessmen, philanthropists, and faculty of the OGS community. This position works closely with and reports to OGS’ Director Of Operations (COO), Yael Krieger. This is a Temporary Position. Start Date: May 1st, end Date September 15th.
Tasks & Responsibilities
➢ Reports to Director Of Operations
➢ This position will work closely with the Director of Operations to ensure the smooth and effective running of their daily calendars along with greater Our Generation Speaks needs.
➢ Assists in planning and implementing programming for OGS Summer Fellowship; Create various written communication materials and content during the fellowship
➢ Draft emails and provide administrative support for the Director Of Operations
➢ Coordinate and formulate the OGS fellowship program schedule, work collaboratively with the Operations and Fellowship Managers.
➢ Support the day-to-day operation of the academic program and guest speakers
➢ Support the day-to-day operations of the summer fellowship and administration as required
➢ Ensure timely follow up on action items from team meetings
➢ Plan and execute multiple special events throughout the summer in coordination with the
Fellowship and Operations Managers
➢ Excellent written and interpersonal skills
➢ High level of organizational skills
➢ Attention to detail
➢ Proven experience in back-office work, writing presentations and formal letters
➢ “Can-do” attitude with a willingness to take initiative and readily adapt to changing circumstances
➢ Energetic, enthusiastic, cooperative, and flexible
➢ Undergraduate degree in international relations, student services, conflict-resolution, business or related subject (Graduate student preferred)
➢ Familiarity with the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict is an advantage
➢ Committed to the OGS Values and mission, interested in working with Middle Eastern startups and social enterprises
The salary for this position is $18 per hour, on a full-time basis (up to 40 hours per week) during the summer. This is a temporary position to be engaged from May 1st - September 15th, 2021. Please note that we do not provide accommodation for this position. This position reports to the Director Of Operations (COO). The individual in this position should expect to work some evening and weekend hours, particularly during the summer fellowship (June-August).
