Development Officer: Outreach to Corporate and Foundation Sectors - International Catholic Migration Commission
ICMC is an international Catholic organization with a mission to serve and protect uprooted people including refugees, internally displaced persons and migrants, regardless of faith, race, ethnicity or nationality. ICMC responds to the challenges of people on the move and their communities, implementing and advocating for rights-based policies and durable solutions through our worldwide membership of Catholic Bishops Conferences, and alongside government and non-governmental partners. While the ICMC headquarters is located in Geneva, Switzerland, ICMC has a liaison office in Washington, DC and a development/fund-raising office in Boston, Massachusetts, in addition to the many field and liaison offices in over 40 countries around the world.
ICMC’s Boston office is seeking a Development Officer to contribute to ICMC’s overall fundraising strategy in the United States through the identification and development of partnerships with corporate and philanthropic foundation sectors. The ideal candidate will be a team player who is able to work in a small office in support of a growing team.
The Development Officer will report to the President of ICMC, Inc. and will perform the following duties:
-Work with team to develop and achieve corporate and foundation goals and outreach;
-Leverage existing organizational relationships;
-Identify and manage new strategic funding and partnership opportunities;
-Collaborate with ICMC Headquarters and Field Offices to identify funding needs, conduct research on funding opportunities, prepare and submit proposals;
-Track grants and work with ICMC Headquarters and Field Offices to prepare and submit reports on a timely basis;
-Develop stewardship programs with private entities;
-Develop materials for publications, events, and solicitations
-Oversee and expand Corporate Matching Gifts program and on-line donations made through AmazonSmiles Foundation, Network for Good and other relevant applications and platforms;
-Work with Development Officer, Major Gifts and Development Associate on moves management and donor prospecting;
-Attend related meetings and calls, as assigned by the President, serve as key resource person on strategic partnerships;
-Collaborate with ICMC Liaison Office staff in Washington, D.C.;
-Other duties as assigned
Reports to: The President of ICMC, Inc.
Experience/ Skills/ Qualifications:
-3+ years of grant management/communication/development experience with demonstrated success (required);
-Bachelor’s degree (required);
-Outstanding communicator with demonstrated ability to listen, write and speak effectively;
-Ability to work in a small team to manage multiple projects and deadlines;
-Experience with using fundraising databases and Microsoft Office Suite (required);
-Understanding of, and commitment to, the mission of ICMC;
-Basic understanding of, and respect for, the Catholic Church-related values and principles underlying ICMC’s humanitarian and advocacy activities;
-ABLE TO RELOCATE to the Boston area, if not already living there;
-Citizen of the United States or has permanent residency in the USA with permission to work there
