Development Assistant - Wide Horizons For Children

The Development Assistant is an essential member of the fundraising team.  (S)he will help the team achieve our annual revenue targets by providing support, including but not limited to gift processing and acknowledgements; database record keeping; direct mail coordination and list pulls; event support; and Sponsorship billing. 

(S)he will be a highly motivated and detail-oriented problem solver who has 2-4 years of experience in development or a related field. 

Primary Responsibilities:

Gift Processing, Acknowledgements and Database Record Keeping

·       - Enter all incoming gifts into the Blackbaud Luminate CRM database (LCRM)

·      -  Produce timely acknowledgement letters and notify Gift Officers of personal follow-up needs

·      -  Maintain and update donor records in LCRM

·       - Prepare regular gift deposit report for Finance

·      -  Provide assistance to Finance with request for gift documentation or reports

·       - Maintain, track and follow-up with all gift pledges

·       - Maintain data integrity through periodic hygiene review/updates

Direct Mail Coordination

·       - Provide support/logistics for all Direct Response fundraising campaigns

·       - Create mailing list reports

·       - Serve as a point of contact with printer/mailhouse

·      -  Provide basic fundraising campaign reporting/analysis

Sponsorship Billing

·      -  Maintain WHFC’s Child Sponsorship billing system/process

·       - Pull billing reports

·       - Prepare billing statements and electronic reminders

·       - Serve as point of contact for all Sponsorship related billing questions

Event Support

·       - Assist with planning and support of key fundraising events

·       - Coordinate invitations and manage event RSVPs

·       - Track event gifts & acknowledgements

·      -  Provide on-site support and serve as a knowledgeable representative at events

An ideal candidate for this position will possess the following qualities and attributes:

·       - A self-starter who has the capacity to multitask and manage multiple projects and assignments

·       - Working knowledge of donor CRM systems. Direct experience with Luminate CRM/Luminate Online/Convio preferred

·       - Skilled in Microsoft Excel and has the ability to proactively organize data and generate reports quickly and accurately

·       - Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

·       - Exceptional interpersonal skills in dealing with external constituents (donors, vendors, etc) and internal team members.

·       - Great attention to detail

·     -   Strong commitment to the mission of Wide Horizons For Children

·       - Positive attitude and a willingness to help the team with whatever needs may arise
