Share the Platform Symposium: Conversations from the Refugee and Forced Migration Field

This two day virtual event, taking place May 13-14, will focus on how professionals, practitioners, and organizations can better value refugee experience and expertise. Refugees have traditionally been shut out of leadership and decision making roles and have all too often only been utilized for their tokenism or their “crisis” story. By working to center refugee expertise, it is our belief that policy, programs and practice can be improved.

The event includes a first day symposium (May 13th) that will be comprised of four different panels that discuss centering refugees in the fields of refugee resettlement, arts and culture, humanitarian aid, and academia. Each panel will include a refugee and non-refugee expert in their field. The following day (May 14th) will host a workshop where invited practitioners and professionals can develop upon the ideas put forth on day one.
