*JOB ANNOUNCEMENT: OUTREACH COORDINATOR*
Location
The Global Development and Environment Institute (GDAE) at Tufts University is seeking an Outreach Coordinator to manage the institute’s growing communications and outreach efforts. GDAE is an interdisciplinary research institute dedicated to improving economic theory, education, and policies. GDAE produces a wide range of educational materials and policy-relevant research, with the goal of promoting a better understanding of how societies can pursue their economic and community goals in an environmentally and socially sustainable manner. GDAE is jointly affiliated with the Graduate School of Arts and Sciences and the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy.
The Outreach Coordinator will manage all aspects of the institute’s communications work, including: overall communications strategy and evaluation; web management; email promotion; media outreach and tracking; weblog coordination; outreach coordination for events; development of promotional materials and publications; multimedia production and management; “new media” development.
*QUALIFICATIONS*
Qualified candidates will have 2-5 years of experience in communications or outreach; excellent verbal and written communication skills; familiarity with the content of GDAE’s general areas of work, including economics. Skills include proficiency in: MS Office; Access or other contact database applications; Dreamweaver or other web management software; Wordpress or other weblog software; publications design; basic computer-based video editing. Educational requirements: B.A. or B.S. in communications or a field of study related to GDAE’s work; advanced degree preferred. Proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese also preferred.
*SALARY & BENEFITS*
This is an 80% part-time position. Salary is commensurate with experience, with an excellent university benefits package, including health insurance, optional dental, vision, and assorted other insurance options, University contribution to 401(a) Retirement Plan. Staff also can receive tuition-remission for related coursework at Tufts.
